Heavy-Duty Stabilization Legs

Heavy-Duty Stabilization Legs

Our most robust hydraulic stabilization solution, heavy-duty stabilization legs are ideal for equipment with a highly dynamic load during operation, like with mobile frac pumps where the load could easily change direction, position and magnitude.

Heavy-duty hydraulic stabilization legs have:

  • Lift capacity: Up to 85,000 pounds
  • Mechanical load holding capacity: Up to 170,000 pounds
  • Side-load capacity: up to 15,000 pounds
  • Locking pin intervals: Infinitely variable
  • Shoe diameter: 24 inches
  • Shoe swivel angle: +/- 10 degrees

When the terrain is unpredictable or has irregular surfaces, the shoes on our heavy-duty, hydraulic stabilization legs have a larger diameter and greater swivel angle, reducing ground pressure. If necessary, heavy-duty shoes can easily be removed to reduce machine width during on-highway transportation.

Power-Packer Heavy-Duty Stabilization Legs are engineered to provide maximum support and controlled stabilization for equipment operating under the most demanding load conditions. Built with precision hydraulic engineering and superior holding capacity in mind, these systems help operators maintain secure positioning even when load direction, position, and magnitude shift rapidly during operation. Their design reflects a deep understanding of extreme field conditions, where strength, adaptability, and safety are non-negotiable for efficient performance.

Manufactured using high-quality materials and proven heavy-duty hydraulic technology, these stabilization legs deliver steady and predictable performance throughout their operation. Each unit is designed for smooth extension and retraction across uneven and unpredictable terrain, helping maintain balance and reduce unwanted movement under dynamic load conditions. The robust structural integrity and larger shoe design ensure reliable ground interaction and enhance operational accuracy in the harshest environments.

Power-Packer focuses on seamless system integration and consistent operational reliability, ensuring these heavy-duty stabilization systems support long-term performance in the most challenging applications. With attention to detail in design and manufacturing, they offer dependable operation across off-highway, oil and gas, aggregate, and construction industries. These stabilization legs represent a blend of exceptional strength, durability, and advanced engineering, reinforcing operator confidence, safety, and productivity in every extreme application.

Industries & Applications

Heavy-Duty Stabilization Legs are built for on-highway and off-highway equipment operating under extreme or highly dynamic load conditions. Applications include mobile frac pumps, rock crushers, portable screen plants, permanent and portable asphalt plants, and mobile power generation units. Wherever load direction, position, or magnitude cannot be predicted during operation and where failure to hold position is not an option, Power-Packer Heavy-Duty Stabilization Legs deliver the strength and reliability your application demands.

Robust stabilization solution

Advantages of heavy-duty hydraulic stabilization legs

Heavy-duty stabilization legs have a mechanical load-holding capacity of up to twice the hydraulic lift capacity, and up to 20% side-load capacity, keeping your equipment secure and safe in the most extreme conditions.

Plus or minus 10-degree swivel shoes, and infinitely variable locking intervals due to the threaded barrel and lock nut, equip Power-Packer heavy-duty, hydraulic stabilization or jack legs for most any job.

Frequently Asked Questions

Heavy-Duty Legs are built for highly dynamic load conditions where the direction, magnitude, and position of the load can shift rapidly during operation, such as with mobile frac pumps. They offer nearly double the mechanical load holding capacity (up to 170,000 lbs vs 85,000 lbs for standard), a larger 24-inch shoe diameter, greater +/- 10-degree swivel angle, and infinitely variable locking intervals.

Mechanical load holding capacity is up to 170,000 lbs approximately twice the hydraulic lift capacity of 85,000 lbs. This means the leg can safely hold a much heavier load than it can lift, which is critical for applications where dynamic forces, vibration, or sudden load shifts could otherwise cause the leg to slip or fail. The high mechanical holding capacity is what makes these legs safe for mobile frac pumping and similar extreme applications.

Yes. The 24-inch shoes on the Heavy-Duty Stabilization Legs can be removed when the equipment needs to travel on-highway. This reduces the machine width to meet road transport requirements without any permanent modification to the leg assembly. Reinstallation at the worksite is straightforward.

Unlike standard legs which use fixed pin intervals (0.375-inch increments), Heavy-Duty Legs use a threaded barrel and lock nut system. This means the leg can be locked at any extension position not just at fixed intervals. This gives operators precise height adjustment for any terrain or application, without being limited to pre-set positions.

The integrated valve block is built into the leg itself, providing positive load holding at the point of support. This means that even if a hydraulic line, tube, or fitting is damaged or disconnected while the leg is under load, the valve block prevents the leg from collapsing. This is a critical safety feature for heavy-duty applications.
